Yes the inner pot has slots. Take it out, water the plant, drain and put back in the outer pot. Don't want wet roots for orchids from what I read. Which is likely why I killed the last one I had.
Hope the transplanting goes well for you!

Looks like a primrose to me. I have native primrose here but they are white. Mine only bloom in the morning and the blossoms only last one day but new blossoms open each ensuing day. This I have no IDEA if it is a weed or flower. Started growing in this flower bed and is not something I planted. Looks good and does not act like a weed, (does not try to take over) so it may stay.

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed you could grow Yucca in Illinois let alone have it be so happy that it flowers.I see 2 Yucca plants that will flower. Had these growing for about 30 years. Neighbor gave me these when I complemented him on how nice of a plant it is.
It is also an evergreen, so its the only thing on the ground that is green with snow around it. My evergreen, trees,,,,, well they are not on the ground.Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed you could grow Yucca in Illinois let alone have it be so happy that it flowers.
Black Knot, lovely stuff. Easy to get rid of, all you have to do is cut off every affected branch and burn it. Oh wait, no tree left. Neighbor at old house had a plum in the front yard with it. He cut the branches off, dragged them to the back of the lot (all of 44x100) and tossed them in the ravine. So the black knot fungus is hanging around there just waiting for something to infect. Glad you got rid of yours and hopefully the replacement won't suffer from it.
Any yuccas growing here live in fear of deer. If a yucca that is not protected from the deer blooms, all of the blossoms will be gone before they can even completely open. The deer consider their blooms a delicacy. We have yuccas growing all in the pasture. Dh burns them when he burns off the pasture every spring. They come back so beautiful the are so pretty when the bloom. We have two in the front close to the road that i told him to stop burning up. He did stop. One is huge.

The deer leave the plants alone but eat every blossom before it actually opens.Until this year our dogs would not let any critters on our place.
But they are very old and stay on the shed. So we get critters of all kinds. I don't care if a deer wants to est them. They will grow back.
