last fall we put a huge buttercup squash out in our unheated sun porch. It dried up like a gourd . tough as leather.
today I got the hydraulic shaft off of the tractor hyd. pump. I managed to get it off without dismantling the whole loader. however, I did have to remove the radiator.. No big deal, that.
now I don't know how to measure the shaft for a new splined coupler.
I don't understand the term "bore" in the description...

Generally the term BORE refers to the inside diameter of a round opening. The shaft diameter would be just whatever clearance difference the opening it fits into.
Are you not able to just give the 2 pieces to the shop to have duplicated? :idunno

I can make the shaft myself. I am not going to take the pump off.
the splines inside the coupler are all sheared off.. I have to cut the coupler off of the shaft and weld a new one on..
If I can get the correct coupler, I can get by for about $10.oo. If I have the shop do it , it will cost more than $90.oo. btdt.. and that was 15 years ago..
from what I can gather so far, the bore seems to be the outside diameter of the male splined shaft on the pump.. I have to research this a bit more..

I had an acquaintance tell me that they went from green, to red, and then to yellow..
all I know for sure is that the red one was delicious in my salad..

I wonder what type of pepper that is, I've never seen one go red then yellow. I suspect that would take so long here that the plants would die from frost before they got to yellow. When I had reds in the past they were the slowest to change, the oranges were the fastest. I have 2 yellow plants this year and they went from green to yellow with maybe an orange tint. The orange peppers also started green they ever so slowly the green shifts to orange.

our growing season is so short here that I never had one turn red before. but I think growing them in buckets puts a lot less strain on them. No weeds to compete with , plenty of sun; and water when needed.
this weekend we are canning some more tomatoes. a batch of 24 quarts for our youngest daughter.. all she has to do is bring her own lids and help with the process.. we have hundreds of jars..
my biggest problem with the empty jars is teaching people to put them on the shelves upside down..

King Arthur is a good short season green bell pepper. It is fast enough that I can get them to turn red in my short growing season.

Sharron, I can understand that.
I couldn't make V8 if I wanted to. I grow only tomatoes.
It would have to be V1 . :lau
I did not work on the tractor today. I was asked to go grocery shopping with DW.. Then we drove here and there and by the time I got home I was ready for a nap
v1, now thats funny :lau :lau
i grow a lot of different things, and like to try new things once in a while, this year i tried 2 different kinds of tomatoes and two different kinds of beans and one new okra
and i also planted some cantaloupe seeds that i kept from a bought one, a sugar baby, it did wonderful, really sweet , most of them small but did have three or four that turned out normal sized, we have a big garden, this year much bigger than last, i'm hoping we won't need all this we're growing but better safe than sorry
and believe me, i understand the nap :gig
