Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

I have to tell you what happened to me yesterday. You know that I have been working on my lawn mower and trying to find parts on the web. Yesterday I went to O'Reilly's to see if they could get me a float needle. They could not help me, but the guy said go try this place just north of town. I had never heard of it. So we drove there.
it turned out to be a Briggs sales/repair/parts store. they have everything I would ever need. I will not be going on the web searching for parts anymore.
to make matters even better, this place is just five miles from our house, and on the way into town on a side road. the guy who waited on me lives about a mile from me.
small world, eh ??
I am giving up on the carb that I bought. I rodded and cleaned the original old carb. the bowl had rusted through so I ordered a new bowl and O ring from my new friend.

last night at midnight we had a wonderful thunderstorm blow through
It rained hard for over a half an hour.
and thundered the whole time. No hail, and no wind.
then a couple of hours a second one just like the first one came along. only it lasted for only a few minutes.
I still haven't had to hook up the water hose, yet.
The Fleet & Farm store has changed ownership. the quality has changed with it. especially with the hired help. Well, Tractor Supply must have heard about it and they just opened a store in the neighboring town. for us it is about the same distance either way.
going to check that out when we go check out the bulk veggie store that we heard about in that town.

I guess we used the Tractor Supply in Marinette often enough that they converted the empty Shopko in town to a local Tractor Supply store. I am happy to see that it always has cars in the parking lot, so people are using it.
We will be taking our German Shepherd there this weekend - for his first bath, lol. Six 1/2 years old and the dog has never had a proper bath. Lots of time spent in his tank of water, cooling off but never a bath with shampoo running water. It will be interesting.

Especially about the one that got away :old :gig :lau
I had one of those incidents with a monster from the deep. I watched it rise from the depths, look at my fly and then sink back down. Further attempts did not arouse its interest. It was just as well since there is no way I could have landed it with the 2# test leader I was using.

It appeared to be a brown trout that looked to be at least 30" long and at least 2 1/2" across its back. From my angle of view, it was not possible to see how deep it was.
