So sorry you fell, Cap. If you can take NSAIDs, they may help. Ice may help also. (Yep, smack me up the side of the head for suggesting ice after the nasty winter and spring we've had!) But, ice in the right location is a good thing: on a sore joint, and in the iced tea while icing the sore joint.
Aspercreme works wonders too.

I fell down in the garden on the hard packed clay soil and landed hard on my poor knees. They are never going to improve at this rate. Fell over the shovel! Nothing to lean it on unless you are near the fence.
SSSSSS. Ouch. I sympathize. I was digging up a rose to move it the other day and pushed real hard with my foot on the shovel- sucker went all the way to the ground and me with it. Boy- getting old isn't for sissies. I now make a habit of holding on to a rake handle or something when I do anything- of course walking is always a challenge- today I tripped over the bird netting I was stapling to stakes to keep the hens out of the vegetables. Luckily, I caught myself on one of the patio posts.
hope your knees get better soon

Hope your doing better today. I'm not a ballerina myself. Last year I had a graceful (NOT) fall/slide in the garden. I was walking between my beds and stepped wrong on the leaves that were on the cardboard. I did manage to push the wheelbarrow out of the way so that I didn't face plant it.

Maybe we all need to have a garden walker to use. :)

I potted up my yellow pear tomato and my tangerine dream pepper plant in large pots on the porch today.

DH used the weed eater around my raised beds. Of course, while he was on a slaughter spree, he weed eated my blue butterfly bush I had out in the garden also. *sigh* I hope it comes back since he did leave some stems about 3" long. :hit

Started to do some of my seed planting into containers. Took out my large pot that holds my canna flowers. (wintered over in utility room)
Had to protect tops with chicken wire to keep my friends out....

I feed these lil cuties. As a result there are plenty of them around. They dig and bury, or dig up thinking there is food there buried.. :idunno The wire keep my pots from getting wrecked. Once the flowers grow thru a little, I remove wire. At that point most of the squirrels are not trying to dig very much anymore.
