Wyo, seed tapes ? I tried that once. I didn't do very well. Do you have any tips on how to do it ? What do you use for paper ? etc..
It was all the way up to O F at 8 AM.
I am preparing to bottle some more wine.
Also researching simple beer recipes..

This will be my first attempt at making seed tapes.
I am using a single-ply toilet paper, a flour slurry in a dropper bottle to make small drops on the TP to hold the seeds in place and alot of hope that it will work, lol.
I saw the process on the internet and it looked promising. I have a tool to help handle the tiny seeds, so it shouldn't be too bad. I will post a couple of pictures if you want me to show what I do.

I looked up the procedure on you tube. I have a pretty good idea of how to do it ,now.
Setting the small seeds onto the glue drops would be challenging for me..
I don't think I would mess with carrots. They are a lot of labor to weed.
I would probably do beets and maybe radishes , and seeds of that size and type.

Yeah lettuce and carrot seeds are SO small, really hard to put them in the ground with any reasonable expectation of "proper" spacing. Radishes are a lot easier. Last year I just did a "broadcast" with the lettuce and "trimmed" leaves off the top. At least there are a lot fewer weeds once the plants get growing. I've not tried carrots at this house at all. I'd need to do some serious deep digging and replacement of the clay soil.

Last year was my first attempt at container planting. I had one squash, lots of tomatoes and eight peppers. I think I will do carrots, lettuce and beets in buckets, also in the garden just in case the buckets don't do any good.
today I am lugging wine bottles up from the basement to the kitchen sink.
I am on the last four bottles, now.
They are really dusty. IDK where the dust came from. but it washes off super easy.
Most of the bottles are magnums, so I won't have to use so many corks for this batch..

@bruceha2000 That is the reason for making the seed tapes. I have a tool to help handle the small seeds so I can get the spacing that is called for while sitting at the kitchen table sipping on hot chocolate. When it is time to plant, all I will have to do is make a shallow trench and unroll the seed tape, lightly cover with soil and water. Hopefully, the TP will also help to hold moisture for the seed to germinate.

Your lettuce reminds me of my neighbors out in Wyoming.

He took 3 packages of carrot seeds and sprinkled them into a 4'x4' planter. The grew into a really thick green mass that the antelope cleared out in 1 night. Those tiny little carrots that were left were only about 1" apart, lol. He wouldn't have gotten much of a crop of carrots at that density, they would all be stunted.

It would be nice if there was a tool that you could push along and the seeds would drop out evenly spaced.. I mean a tiny wheel, like the planter that I use to plant corn and beans.
I was not on the computer yesterday. I had PT and that really knocks me out for the rest of the day..
I have all the wine bottles that I need for the next batch of wine. got the old labels off. just have to brush them inside to make sure there are no surprises in them.
