Gas up once again

I just got back from the feed store. $18.35 for Layena pellets (!!). $14.19 for scratch grains + $1.92 in sales tax, Gallon of 88 octane $3.39/gallon, Riding your bike pulling 100# of grain on trailer= PRICELESS!!!

Just relax, everyone - the paper said today that the price of a barrel of oil went DOWN to $97 from $100, causing the stock market to jump, due to the increase in consumer confidence. How's YOUR "portfolio" (did I spell that right? Don't remember the last time I spelled that one)?

Oil prices are down, but gasoline prices are up. Big oil will just be using the issues in the Middle East to jack up prices without getting in trouble, as they turn record profits once again. Same old story.

I haven't seen a "full" tank in so long, anything over half means I'm rollin in the dough (or was before I got gas

)

Anything over 5-6 miles away is considered a "big trip" nowadays. My feed went up a little over a dollar, which isn't as bad as I was expecting, course it could be up another dollar next time I buy....

I miss buying a gallon of gas an a pack of smokes for a $1.60 total to get me threw the day in high school.

I'm sure most country folk do. I however live mere blocks from my favorite gas station, and about 3 miles from WalMart, it *might* be 4 miles to the feed stores.
Basically I no longer go anywhere that is more than 4 miles down the interstate from me. We no longer go to Sam's Club for example, it's about 20 miles away, Whole Foods? Forget that too. The "better" movie theater? Not worth the trip anymore. Visit to mom's?? Maybe once a month. Etc.
