I just assisted hatched a baby and she has a gash on her head and what appears to be wry neck. I’ve dealt with bad wry neck before for about 3 months with another bird who recovered and is great now but never one that is this young. Do we think the wry neck is from the head trauma? If so what can I give her for that along with vitamin E.

She’s squirming around and talking, I have her separated underneath a heater

I’m not that experienced with new chicks with such problems. But I would start giving vitamins E and B complex 1/4 tablet crushed into a little water and given orally. Try to place her legs closer together about 1.5 inches apart, and tape or use a 1 inch strip of vet wrap to bring the legs together. Hold her upright and try to get her used to being up. A small wineglass or cup can be used to stand her up, but pad it. That will hopefully get her muscles used to standing.
