Geese laying September

I live in the Uk and have just collected 2 geese eggs from my Emden Geese. The date is 29 September. Just wondering how this can be.

Welcome to BYC. I have heard of instances where geese lay in the fall but have never experienced this. Sometimes if a pair has an unsuccessful clutch or loses their goslings they will re lay, but generally not this late.

I find this forum very very helpful as I’ve only been involved with chickens, ducks and geese for two years and have learnt a lot from other people’s experiences.

I have heard of laying in the fall with Chinese but not Embden maybe they just wanted you to have a few nice yummy omelets.

Well I found 2 and now I’m on holiday in Greece so not sure if my husband has found anymore but will find out on Saturday
