Geese Love to Chew [Anything]

My geese have nibbled on flower pots, torn plastic seed trays apart, stripped the wood off the hutches, put rocks, plastic lids, and all sorts of things in their kiddie pool. What silly geese!

Mine think lawn furniture is a wonderful toy to play with.

We take the whole full seat and yank and pull on it until we make dacron fluffies all over the place. Then we proceed to the baby pink weeping crabapple tree and strip off the bark on the trunk and the limbs. So we had to put fort knox up around the tree so it may have a chance. They still go and grap the limbs to taste.

Then we go onto pulling the lava rock out of our landscaping..... Everything they can put thier beaks on is fair game! Then we go and play in the rubber mulch around the set of three trees and play chew the rubber like chew toys.

I have one female Ginger that every time egg laying time comesaround she takes and jumps over the fencing around our landscaping, it is low and she makes a nest out of lava rock????

Well today Missy chewed the bark off the forsythe bush all the way around it and about 12" up and down. I guess it's a gonner. Haven't seen her chewing on any of the bushes before.

Well the other day she really put a scare in me, we have been getting non stop rain since Monday and some where Missy found a piece of bird netting and manged to get it wrapped around her lower bill and her tongue, it was very tight I had to use scissors to cut it away. I have used bird netting in the past and this was a small piece. She really had me worried since I was able to walk right up to her and pick her up and bring her in the house to do the cutting , I think she was scared too since she was not able to move her bill normal. Makes me want to put her in a play pen.. LOL

Hi everyone -- I think you guys have done a great job summing up all the fun and funny things geese will chew on, but PLEASE remember to wrap any extension cords in pvc pipe. You may not want to cook your goose, but if they chew through to the wire, that's exactly what you will have.

Stay warm guys! Alabama had SNOW yesterday --
