This doesn't have to do with chewing, but have you noticed if you sneeze of cough they have to have a comment? It can be dead of winter with the windows in the house closed tight and i am in the upstairs bedroom farther est away from their house and I sneeze and my gander hollers. He can also hear us talking inside before it gets daylight and starts hollering.![]()

I'm pretty sure he's saying Bless you! because that's what I think mine do. Yeah, even though mine can be brats, I do like to think they have manners.![]()
Didn't everyone know they have to have the last word!![]()
Have read all of what your geese nibble on. Mine chose the solar lights, take the lava rock out of where the bushes are, pull on the lawn chair pillows and pull the whole seat and back off. Pluck the stuffings out of them. Snap bungee cords, chew on the wire fencing around our bushes, pick up the rubber mulch and play chew toy, anything that looks interesting will play with it. Love to chew on my baby pink willow crabapple tree. Stripped the bark off the bottom of it. SO we had to put a fort knox wood fencing around it. Had to paint the whole bottom trunk so hopefully it does not dies. In other words they get into everything they can get them beaks on!!!!
Last year I bought a very nice tri-level rabbit hutch for the Lionhead rabbits gifted to me. Within four days, the geese had figured out how to open the latch and they let the bunnies loose. I had to add a carabiner to keep the geese from opening the hutch again.
They've pulled the tops off pathway solar lights and even nibbled the connectors off the ends of the wires attached to the batteries. They found the package of "magic mover" discs, tore the package apart and have carried one of the smaller discs to the stock tank to see if it floats... They totally understand screen door handles and door knobs, and will work on the over and over again, hoping to master the technology. Thank goodness they don't have opposable thumbs!
