geese waterers in winter?

A small one unless you enjoy carrying water/ice. If you want your goose to bathe get a rubber pan, because of the shape and material they are easy to empty when frozen.

I have a galvanized stock tank, short but long, and I put a sinking tank heater in it. I then take an old, unusable garden hose and split it in a half and place the cord inside it. I then lightly tape (usually just electrical tape) to secure the closure of the garden hose. I do this for every portion of the heater cord and extension cord they can reach.

I drain, clean and refill once a week in the winter (unless there is a bad storm and I can't really get to it to clean, then I just shovel a walkway for the geese.
