We eat the eggs and I also carve the shells or decorate them. Each egg which she lays every other day, is the equal to 3 chicken eggs. I don't have room to have a bunch of babies. She doesn't seem to miss them. Lots of protein I have to say
Where did you get them?

Mine lay a large heavy egg every other day. They started laying at the end of February and usually stop mid June or when they start to go into molt. I was a little squimious on the first but got over it quickly. The yolk is much bigger than you would think and the white is much less than you would think. We wait all year in antisipation for them. They are very good and tons of protein. You want to make sure you feed the goose her oyster shell. They are great in baking, omelettes, French toast, casseroles, scrambled eggs all kinds of stuff. Each egg is about the amount of 3 chicken eggs. When I cook pancakes it calls for 2 eggs so I just crack 1 whole goose egg and it turns out wonderful.

What size are they? Are they aggressive?
They are about 15 #. From February thru June the gander is more aggressive. He is not aggressive towards me as he has imprinted on me. The goose has always been shy around me. During the rest of the year they let me know if there are intruders on the property beast or man. The male is very protective of his property but I think most geese are. I think you asked in one of the threads what to feed them. Most time they graze on grass. I always have free choice manna pro game bird/show bird pellets 20% protein. They always have free choice grit and during breeding season I have free choice oyster shell as well. They also have cut grass hay, free choice and during the real cold spells I mix a little scratch in with the pellets. Water is always available.
