Geese

That`s really correct (i used a tower first week, maybe i begin to use the papers too early). I think only about one question

- anyone try to put dirty towers in a washing mashine? Or this is a bad idea and i will kill my poor washing mashine? )))
Next eggs of the geese don`t hatch now, i don`t know now - maybe it`s too early (i don`t remember when i put the eggs to the incubator). I put there some eggs of the ducks too, used the ovoscope after 5 days and see - the eggs are fertilized, i see the embrions there. The eggs of the geeese are "dark", i hope they wil hatch in this month... Next time (in the next incubation) i try to use any writer (maybe a thin piece of chalk? or any lead? I want to write the day when i put the egg to the incubator). Of course it`s easy when i will have enough eggs (i will not need to write anything), but in this spring i had one egg, then next eggs after one week, and after two weeks, and one egg of the goose i put to the incubator only in last week... I'm starting to get confused in eggs

I was asked about that in one russian forum, the people tell me that they use
2B, 3B or softer and carefully write on the eggs the date when the egg must hatch

In the future i try to do that. Today morning i get 2 eggs of the ducks and put it in the incubator again )))

I use a marker to mark my eggs :/
you can use any thing
I think markers (black markers speaking) are best

And the marker is not bad for the embrion in the egg?

Nope ive been using permenet marker for years! And no problem at all ! I never used pencil

Pasha I use pencils also and have no problems with pencils.

today put 2 eggs of ducks (yesterday have 2 too) and used a pencil. Some eggs of the geese was unfertilized - it was in the incubator long time, but now i see - it`s unfertilized. I don`t have enough experience now and sometimes i do a mistakes - i can`t understand - maybe the egg are fertilized, of maybe not... Only after 5-10 days i can understand correct. One goose egg was "dark", but it was in the incubator too long time. I broke the shell and see - the egg are unfertilized, there are not any goose, and smelt... haha i thinked i will die )))
Today i begin to write the dates. In another eggs of the ducks (i don`t remember yet how long they are in the incubator, maybe 3 days, maybe one week) i write "X" for understand - when the eggs width the date of today will be hatch - another eggs will be hatch early, if they will not hatch (more as 35 days, i read the duck need 28 days) i will remove it from the incubator. I used the ovoscope, the eggs are fertilized, i hope i will have a nice ducks in the next month.

I don`t know why much eggs of the geese was unfertilized - maybe because my geese are too young. I have goose-boys more that goose-girls, the eggs must be fertilized. My geese begin to put the eggs when they was 9 months old. Now (today and yesterday) i dont find any eggs of the geese, but i find 1-2 eggs of the ducks. Well, i will incubate the ducks.
