Hello everyone! Let's have some fun to mix in with the anxiety of not knowing what gender your chicks may be!

Decided to create a thread for weekly progression posting and fun guessing on gender/breed
Anyone is welcome to add their current mystery chicks and update each Friday! Don't stop until the Rooster Crows!! (or someone pops out an egg)
I figured this might be a good way to document the differences in growth in each gender or breed.
Feel free to include any known helpful information such as age, breed of parents, behavior, etc. and quality pictures of the specific features of your chicks! (feet, comb, feathering, wattles, etc.)

No chick is too young to take a fun guess at!!

I have 3 "Sapphire Olive Eggers" currently at about 3 weeks of age, from Rural King in Gainesville, FL purchasing from Privett Hatcheries
Parents should be a Copper Maran crossed with an Ameraucana, not sure which was which.

I'm hoping pullets! What's your guess??

Alma here is feathering out slower and it's worrying me 😅

Hey everyone! The chicks are now about 4 weeks old!

Dolly and Pearl are definitely the most dominant, not sparring or anything but fluttering about trying to figure out the pecking order. Alma, who is not as developed and I believe a bit younger, is terrified of them both when they do this 😆 She's definitely at the bottom and has shown no interest in competing with them.

I finally had to put a screen on top of the brooder as Dolly and Pearl have figure out how to jump on top of the feeder and fly out. I found out when Alma who cannot fly much yet was hollering, I went in there to see what the fuss was about and sure enough she was alone in the brooder while the other two were on the bed eating!

Alma is finally showing some tail feather growth, her wings are almost fully feathered, though her comb is the smallest of the 3. She had pretty severe pasty butt when I got her and her poop would shoot out of her bottom in streams so I think maybe her being sick as a young chick may have delayed her development, is that possible? 🤔

Also I believe this is the last time I'll be able to hold them with one hand...

Here are some current pictures of the "girls":

The combs are developing, not getting super large or showing any color yet. Any guesses on gender for fun?

The chicks are now 6 weeks old!

Dolly and Pearl are almost fully feathered out, and I absolutely love their ridiculous Olive Egger hair-dos! 🤣

Alma is much smaller than Dolly and Pearl, and is feathering in all patchy and strange. She/he is also the strangest behaving of the three. She/he likes to run with their butt in the air and head tucked down low. It doesn't mind being held, but out of the 3, Alma quivers a bit when I hold them. Alma used to be the fluffiest and largest but the other 2 surpassed it very quickly. None have much color in their combs at all at this point.

Hoping for pullets! What's your guess??

Alma:
Not entirely sure on this one....starting to worry 😬
