i’ve got two blue english orp chicks in my brooder. we hatched most of our own eggs this year but picked these up at the farm store along with some leghorns.. i think we’re approaching 3-4 wks so a bit early BUT these two look so different that i’m just sure the darker chick is a cockerel.. much shorter tail feathers, more pronounced comb, hackle feathers coming in… what are your thoughts?

Are its legs larger than the others? You may have a Roo, but I would wait 2-3 more weeks and see it coloration of the comb changes.

It does have sturdier legs than the other chick- thicker and overall taller stature. Agreed it is early to tell- but they are quite different for being from the same hatching group.
