Gender guesses on this Lavender Orpington chick?

I took these pics today, 10/17/21. The chick turned 5 weeks old yesterday. Any gender guesses?

It does not appear Lavender to me.

Lol...I believe the color will come in later with the feathers. Are you saying it does not look like a Lavender Orpington chick?

Where did the chick come from? Looks more splash. Definitely not lavender.

So far it looks like a pullet. It's still quite early though. Update in a few more weeks.

I don't see splash but a lighter lavender color. I have had some that have been very pale in color. Not a breeder I would use that light.

At 5 weeks, I see a slight comb and wattles peeking out. Fairly thicker legs and slow feather growth around the neck and back. I'm leaning male. 3 weeks and you'll know for sure.

Yeah, lavender does not come in after awhile, it should come in right away. Not lavender.

Is it perhaps the lighting in the pics?? Maybe I should take some more pics for you guys to judge?

I got Lavender Orpington hatching eggs from a very reputable woman on eBay. A wonderful, Christian woman I might add, lol. The information in her description was very extensive and detailed on her whole Lavender Orpington operation.

@FeatherTay , I’m looking at your pic of your 5 week old Lavender Orpington pullet and it pretty much looks the same as mine.

Wattles, pink tinge and lack of tail make me think boy. Does he have any siblings to compare with? That's usually the easiest way to find out at this age.

It could totally be the lighting. I also have a blue light filter on... so that probably also messed with the color.

I wouldn't panic yet. It could be the lighting. Like I said earlier, I see orpington and I see a light lavender showing. I would say for now your baby is indeed lavender, just lighter than usually seen.
