Wow! Your chick looks like a completely different color than mine! And the comb is so much darker too. Is this a pullet?
I actually considered the possibility of breeding but didn’t really plan on it. I had a broody hen and figured I would order eggs from a breed that I fancied. Lavender Orps are so pretty and fairly rare. I was happy that at least one of the twelve eggs I received hatched. If it’s a roo, I need to come up with a plan.I wouldn't worry about the color being lighter. It may change when it feathers out. Are you planning to breed?
I don't know how typical it is, but it is possible I believeWow! Your chick looks like a completely different color than mine! And the comb is so much darker too. Is this a pullet?
Is it typical for Lavender Orps to look so different?
Mine looked more like her baby.

They are almost 8 months old now! Eevee is my good boy and his brother Gibbs (green backdrop picture) now has his own ladies to take care ofYes, @kurby22 , your lavender babies do look like the ones that @5 Points Wingfeather posted. Interesting. What do they look like now? And how old are they?
his owner sends updates because my daughter sobbed when we had to rehome him. It’s hard getting so attached!
Thank you!What handsome boys! @kurby22
Wow, they are so beautiful!!!Thank you! They’re very good roosters, well behaved with my kids and the chickens. I am debating breeding him to my lavender Isabel English Orps (one of the Dashwood sisters in pic) to sell babies in the future. They would make some very pretty babies I think!
