Ok, so only toms gobble, what age can they produce that noise?
Toms don't grow feathers on their neck. How accurate is that?
Royal Palm toms get black on the chest while hens remain white on the chest. I only have one of that breed, so doesn't help with the black Spanish or Narragansett.
My 3 are about 7 weeks old, give or take. No posturing from any of them, but the Narragansett is growing like crazy. It's also friendlier and braver. The other two are smaller, and growing feathers on the backs of their necks, while the giant Narragansett still has a fuzzy neck.
The size difference is very obvious. But is the Narragansett a larger breed than the Royal Palm and Black Spanish?
My gut makes me say I have 2 girls and a boy. But these are my first turkeys. The Royal Palm has a tiny snood, and Black Spanish looks like a penguin with no snood, and the Narragansett has quite the obvious snood. (the snood is the little thing that pops up just above the nose and behind the beak, right?)
The Narragansett is already named Gobbles, so we'll see what happens. The RP is Giblet and the Spanish is Penguin because of how it looked as a black and white baby. Not sure where Giblet comes from, just popped in my mind after Gobbles.
