Thanks everyone! I guess I can depend on it being a rooster. I was pretty sure, but as I said, everyone called it differently. That's alright, because we also have four BR pullets in the brooder box, and they'll need a rooster. By the way, are BR's known to be broody? I know several who have had RIR's to go broody, but I've yet to hear of a BR going broody.
BRs can go broody, although Henderson's Chicken Chart says they are infrequent in that regard. My folks had a broody BR on the nest last time I was out there.
