Funny is when I got these 4 home as babies, we were looking from above at them in the brooder and my non-chicken friend said 3 boys and a girl. Due to coloring on wings/backs. "boys are pretty bird's to attract the girls, girls are duller". She was right. Maybe not totally about male vs female plumage in all birds...but she applied it to her guess and was right if this last iffy one is a roo. Neat.
So if shopping for wheatens maybe picking the dullest plumage will equal more pullets...I picked the cutest ones and love unique. Got mostly boys. Trying again when my breeders girls are at it again and we'll see if it helps lol
