So I have two Pekins and two Cayugas, all supposed to be girls, all five and a half months old. I've been getting one large and one small white to greenish off-white eggs for the last two weeks, so I assume these are the Pekins'. One of my Cayugas, Frances, has been acting kind of dominant and sort of mating or trying to mate with the Pekins. However, all the ducks sound basically the same and there are not curled tail feathers.

So, is Frances a girl or a boy? I'm not really interested in eating fertilized duck eggs, but I really don't want to get rid of one of my babies.

Ducks will go through the mating ritual just can't go the whole way and their will always be a dominant one in the flock. I see this behavior played out every year and I have drakes.
