Genders please

Update with some full body pics of a few of them, numbers matched to above photos. These black chicks are crazy hard to photograph. Outside on a bright day might do better, but it's been gray all day here today.

These guys are spoiled and interfere with this process, right up in my face going for the phone. Such sweeties.

Number 3 included to see if anyone has a current guess on breed/cross.

Thanks everyone!

Really nice birds!

Sorry, these are tricky for me. What has me thrown off is that I have some experience with barred and Cuckoo birds, but all of my barred rock and Cuckoo Marans cockerels and roosters that I've owned in the past were always a lighter color than the pullets.

It could just be the strains I have, though.

But colors aside, 2 and 6 have a more cockerel expression, more defined brow, and more developed comb. Those could very well be cockerels.

I can't tell on the rest, but the others seem to all agree on the others. I say hang on to them til you get crowing or an egg!

As for the little mix, very interesting color pattern! Maybe the result of a barred and columbian patterned bird?
