I'll put the pheonixes in a spoiler so they don't overwhelm anyone uninterested in them.

They are overwhelmingly beautiful! 😎

Oh, my! These are magnificent! I covet your Red Pyle ( is that a sin?😂) Unbelievable . They are to die for. I have always loved Phoenix, just everything about them. Do you ever sell chicks?
Which one are you calling red Pyle? The male in the group photo?

I do sell birds, usually they're older though
For some reason, it's almost impossible to sell st run chicks despite being able to sell sexed males and females almost easily

Do they seem to handle heat well? I would assume not because of all those heavy feathers, but I've also seem some very fluffy birds do quite well.
Mine seem to handle the heat a lot better than the cold. What about you, Mr. Heltzel? I used to live in NJ by PA. and the humidity plus cold was harder on the birds than arid environment plus cold. It certainly makes for selection of hardy birds. The first Hackle Fowl I had were from down South in the US, but the new line has been raised out here over 5000 ft in elevation albeit they were in single pens in a heated barn. They sure love being loose in a real chicken pen. I took some photos of the adults and hung today. In the one photo is a splash hen, an exceptionally great Mom to the chicks, plus I love her color.

The hen and chicks photos are endearing. Phoenix are such protective Mom's( the ones I used to have, anyway) are yours like that?
Yes, and they rarely break brooding too.

The one with the two and the green band drew blood horribly in her last batch when I was pulling bad eggs.

The silver puffs up into that typical broad pose when I make a look towards her.

The roanish one (with the chicks piled in front and in the front right corner of the group photo) gave up her life in a racoon attack to save 3 of her 5 chicks (the two other than the blonde in the young trio)

The white female also suffered a severe bite wound to her head in a following attack while trying to save her chicks. She has some hearing loss we believe from a tooth that entered her ear.

That is sad, but it shows what a game bird they are, to take on a far larger predator that way. That red- breasted ( roan) was beautiful, such a shame.
