Genetic questions!

That's so interesting! What do you think would happen if I crossed Buttercup hens to a Egyptian Fayoumis rooster? I can't tell if they're barred or not... maybe they're autosomal barred too?
I missed this.
Yes they're autosomal barred.
You'd get coloring like the Fayoumis, but males would have yellow in hackles.

When you cross Fayomi ore Brakel with Butercubs, the F1 will be like Fayony. I cross Butercubs with Brakel and all chicks are like Fayomi Brakel. Berken is autosomal dominant over pardrige.

What if I was to take a Sicilian Buttercup rooster and cross him to White Leghorn hens? Since White Leghorns usually have Dominant White and single comb which is recessive then would the offspring be Dominant White with buttercup combs? Could I use this formula to get white Sicilian Buttercups?

Also... completely unrelated, but something I've been wondering...

How does leakage work with birds that are Extended Black? I have a rooster named Vadakor who I'm almost 100% sure is Extended Black with with a high amount of leakage. I'm also fairly sure that he's Heterozygous Silver split to Gold. His father was a Silver leghorn but his mom was a Olive Egger (BCM crossed Cream Legbar), but due to the fact that he's not Duckwing I believe he's Extended Black. Since his chest is fully black he's probably not Birchen...

Anyways...

I want to cross him to a hen I have called Kikimora, idk what she is exactly but she has the tiniest bit of silver on the tip of a few of her primary feathers on her left wing. As seen in the photos she does in fact have white earlobes so I'm assuming she lays white eggs... maybe she's a Black Leghorn? I'm hoping that some of the offspring will inherit Vadakor's leakage and will have that slender body shape that both parents have! But I'm wonder how likely that is? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Here's Vadakor:

White with leakage and the buttercup combs wouldn't be perfect but pretty much.

Your rooster is probably heterozygous for some other e base, though I can't say what.
Since your black hen has yellow legs she is unlikely to be extended black based. Maybe partridge based like black Wyandottes are. Honestly, I don't know what you'd get from that comb.

Okay... Scratch the idea of her being a leghorn... I just went out to let them free range and I saw her lay a MASSIVE blue egg in front of me!!!

Cool!

How could he be anything else though? The mom was extended black and the dad was duckwing. So with his full black wing feathers wouldn't that mean he's extended black like his mom? I'm a bit confused... 😵‍💫

I got her from a dude that said she was a "BCM" which she most definitely isn't... But he did have them in a coop with Olive Eggers... So maybe she's an olive egger too? But that wouldn't make sense since she lays blue eggs 🤔

Probably some weird f2 or f3 thing.

Maybe being heterozygous for duckwing allows for the very yellow legs then.
The black bird is definitely an Olive Egger. F2 Olive Eggers can lay brown, white, or blue eggs.
