Are these chicks the only kind that came from the black parents?
They look columbian restricted, the dark one may be melanized and columbian restricted, like a lakenvelder.
Your animals may carry wheaten or another recessive e-allele, but then you also should get 75% solid black ones.
Small numbers never obey chance...
The dominant E or E^R alleles suppress columbian restriction.
Not that you need a restrictor to get non-solids if you have wheaten in there.
