Genetics for a noob

Hey y'all, got a quick question. My golden Phoenix got with my bb red hen. Is there a way of knowing what they are going to look like? Don't phoenix have bb red in it anyway? I'm sure the chicks don't have markers do they? How do genetics work with these, are there dominant and recessive genes whith chickins or do you more or less call it after you see it?
