Genetics for Fibro and Blue Egg

Fibro is a dominant gene so it should be Fm/Fm. Do you know what breed he is? You will only get blue eggs if the rooster does not carry genes for brown eggs. Otherwise the offspring will lay green eggs. No matter who you cross the rooster with, the female offspring will always be fibro. But there genes like barring and dermal inhibitor which are sex-linked and both inhibit fibro. So if your blue egg laying hens has barring, yellow or white feet, the male offspring will not be fibro. You would also have sex-linked chicks. If she has willow or slate feet the male and female offspring will both be fibro and not sex-linked.

He’s a Hmong. If I put him over a Silverudd Blue, then fibro offspring but brown egg? Thank you for the overview - better than even ChatGPT!

I have another Hmong who is fibro but tested fm/N (pic attached - gold guy) - I would have thought he was fm/fm too. I hatched three Hmong eggs hoping for two females and a male but got three boys. 😵‍💫
