Thanks for the info, @Bunnylady ! I do like the idea of them not keeping me up and also being available when I'm awake. :) although I'm a night owl anyway lol

I wonder if one of those silent wheels would keep them quiet? Or is it more just the moving around etc?

Your gerbils seem like they were great!

I'd pick gerbils, they are more interactive, my robo hamsters don't seem to care what I'm doing, and the hamsters have an odor.

My gerbils are clean, neat and entertaining to watch. My hamsters are up only after midnight and they go to bed early in the morning. Some days I don't ever see them.

My gerbils are up and about all day between naps, and are curious about what I'm up to. I'd definitely pick gerbils over hamsters.

My hamsters have the silent spinner wheels, they are pretty quiet. They mostly run on the wheel, than frantically run around the cage, eat than run some more.

It is a hard choice, good luck :)

Hamsters sound exactly like my current schedule

But they seem somewhat boring? I am sure they are cute though

I think I'll probably go with gerbils cause I've wanted them forever (and bonded with the pet store ones ). Those hide a lot though, maybe slightly sick? I gotta look around

ThanksKDOGG!

(Also, I heard cats hate the smell of orange or lemon, so if I am away I will put some peels of that around the cage.)

But I still may go for gerbils, I know one, he is a Libary Pet(not taken care of the right way, but he is perfectly happy and healthy.Yes, he did have a friend but he died)named Angus, he's Albino and I love watching him dart around his tank!

They probably hide more because of all the commotion going on in the store. Mine run and hide when they hear a loud noise or see movement before coming out again.

No problem! And yeah, gerbils are cute lol

Hmm that's true but idk, they've had others that were out more, these are hiding almost every time i go, but i guess it depends on personality haha

Hi, we had 2 gerbils - Cotton and Honey, but sadly Honey died :hit
They are amazing pets, mine are very friendly and really cute!!!
I recommend gerbils!
I have had hamsters too, and I love both!
