Just a little off subject but I need to put this on here. I take care of elderly and mentally challenged persons in my home (38 years now) and they just love the chickens. I have one person that sits up at her bedroom window and watches out at the chickens for hours out of the day. When she comes to eat, she always tells me in a really happy voice how beautiful the Copper Marans Rooster is. I keep telling her just wait till the eggs hatch that I have in the incubator now (the NH from Luanne through Kathy). I sure am hoping for a nice hatch. They can really see something gorgeous. I really do like the looks of these NH guys. lol

I am very excited also. I will be putting them into lock down tomorrow night and will check everything out then. Can't wait. lol Thanks so much.

Any updates???? How many eggs did you start with and how many made it to Lock-Down? Any hatch yet? Tomorrow should be an exciting day for you!!!!

Won bid on 12 eggs, sent 3 extras. Started with 15 NH's eggs and I put 3 of my hen eggs in because I usually have 100% on my own eggs so I like putting a few in with each hatch to make sure incubators are working right. Candled all eggs tonight while putting them into lock down. My 3 eggs looked fine and 12 of the NH eggs looked fine also. The other 3 appeared to be clear. One seemed to have a little darkness to it so I left these 3 in original incubator just in case. Wow, these next three + days will sure be hectic. Now the waiting begins. lol

Right there with ya' Jim....good luck!

Thanks so much Luanne. Everything looking good this morning. Temp hanging right in at 99.3 humidity at 74. I try my darndest to just stay away from the incubators once I put eggs into lock down. Check temp/humidity once or twice a day then go on about my business. Today won't be so bad but tomorrow and Thursday will be awful. Once I see a pip or hear a little yeep, yeep then my nerves are shot. ha,ha. Worse then an old mother hen. And then to top it off, I have church on Thursday evenings. Seems I always end up setting eggs on Thursdays. lol
Anyway, I will be posting in a couple of days and let you all know what goes on.
Thanks to you also Hillbilly Hen. All the well wishes sure does help. lol
