congratulations on a great hatch!

Well everyone, I just got home from church and checked in on the babies. I was thinking I would put them in the brooder box when I got home BUT the last of my three test eggs hatched while I was gone so now the total is up to 8 NH and my 3 test eggs. I see two more of the NH eggs have pips so I really don't want to take a chance of opening the incubator till morning. I surely don't want to cause any shrink wrapped little ones. It's not been 24 hours until after midnight on the first couple that hatched so I know it won't hurt to leave them in there till morning. Most are all fluffed up. My temp has dropped just a little but the humidity is really hanging super good. It is 84 right now, temp is saying 98.8. I know it is warm enough because the first one that hatched was panting a little. If these two that are pipped now hatch through the night I will really be extremely happy. Even 8 out of 12 is super for shipped eggs.

That is not counting the 3 that were clear before lock down. I don't include them.

I planned on doing the chicken dance but I'm just to tired. Can't do the things that I did 40 years ago. ha,ha

I will post pictures tomorrow morning for all to see. I greatly do appreciate all the well wishes during this hatch.

Well, I changed my mind. These little guys/gals were being so active that I thought it would be best to move most of them. When I went to move them, whoo hoo another NH had hatched. I left that one and the light sussex that hatched while I was in church in the bator. There are 3 more eggs in the from the NH and 2 of them have pips. I don't know about the third. I know it won't hurt to leave them alone now. The last two are only minutes or hours old. This will give plenty of time to see if the last 3 are going to hatch for sure. In first picture the far right yellow is an Australian light sussex and the second one in from the left is a little Delaware/Marans mix. lol I now have 9 NH and my 3 test eggs chicks from 15 eggs in lock down. This is the best hatch that I've ever had. I won't say for sure what caused it BUT I did buy a new Brinsea 20 Eco and did the incubation in it and moved them to the Genesis 1588 for hatching. Whatever the reason, I am tickled clear to death. Thanks so much Luanne for these eggs. Now to make sure they all make it for a few days then I won't worry at all with them. They sure are sweet. Will let you all know how the last 3 eggs do in a day or so. Thanks again for all the well wishes. I sure do appreciate it.

This is just great! I am so happy for you! They all look great! I bet they will be taking a drink of water right quickly. YAY for your great hatch!

12:55 A.M. Number 10 New Hampshire just came hopping out of it's egg. OH WOW, I can't believe all this. One more egg has a little pip but I haven't seen anything on number 12. Thank you so much Luanne, Kathy, Doug and anyone else involved in getting this wonderful specimen of New Hampshire's to us.

Could there be one more? Or two?? I can honestly say that this is the best auction that I had ever invested in. Geez, who would have thunk it?

Oh, they are drinking/eating already Kathy.

Beautiful. I have a couple of New Hampshire Reds, one hen is my absolute favorite. I have 28 and she is the only one I named. I named her Girly. Yours is gorgeous!
