German New Hampshire

I am going to take photos of my birds this weekend. I wish other folks would do so too. Mine were born in Feb and some in March. I AGREE I wish folks would post PHOTOS of their birds.

Also does anyone have a photo of what a tail break looks like?
THANKS!
Sorry it took so long but I have had a lot going on around here and I kept forgetting to take some pics for you. Most of the pullets in these pics were hatched in late Feb but not everyone was.

Those Delewares are beautiful! I wish you were a 1000 miles closer, as I'd love to buy some of their offspring. I just bought my first Deleware chicks three weeks ago, and hope to learn more about crossing in the parent strains to improve as time goes by. Question - is it solely hybrid vigor that accounts for the immediate improvement in size by going back with the New Hampshire? Any thing you can teach or are willing to share I would really appreciate. Thanks.

You are in Manhattan, KS? I am only 200 miles from you. However, I am not ready to release any of their offspring yet. Maybe next year. We'll see.

Just read the whole thread....have enjoyed learning a lot about the breed! Lucky for me Chris is just up the road from where I work and managed to pick up 4 chicks from him at the beginning of the month. Proud to take part in raising this great breed. Spent a lot of time looking them over this afternoon and thinking I have one pullet out of the four :/ will be visiting Chris again soon me thinks! :P

Green Acres,
I have some of Kathy's birds and live just north of you, Westmoreland, KS. She has some GREAT birds and is excellent to work with. Her Delawares are really nice birds as well as her New Hampshires.

Chris,

That hen in the second photo down, lower left hand corner has lovely hackle coloring/barring. She is a beauty!

Barred Rocker,

Nice birds. How old are they
Culled some of my birds last week. Seven roosters. I now have 4 to choose from. Need to take pics
