German shepherd fanciers, look at these!

Our petport is a no kill animal shelter that will take any animal, not just dogs and cats. It is located in Vincennes, Indiana. The zip code is 47591. If you want me to get pics of them and their info, I am running up dog treats and toys in a couple weeks. They are so beautiful and are in the best of care. They have a huge outside pen, fresh food, water, and alot of love! The workers would be so greatful to find them both homes. Plus, if any one near them is looking for a hunting dog or GD, you could find them there.

I wish we were able to take one or both of them right now.

We have 4 rescue dogs, and Hubby said, "No more!" until one of them passes-----I'm assuming it will be Daisy, as she's already 10 1/2. Not looking forward to the day she's gone----she's the most awesome dog I've ever had in my life. She follows me everywhere when I'm outside----unless I tell her to "stay", and then she'll stay until I release her-----never even trained her for that!

I would still love to see pics. of the GSDs at your petport, though.

The pups on that site are gorgeous! I love the dark coloring. But that's a LOT of money for a pup that has a pretty worthless hip guarantee. You can't even get a pup x rayed and clear for hip dysplasia until they are two.....but they only guarantee that their pups won't develop debilitating hip dysplasia by the age of one! No way in the world would I even consider buying a pup with this weak of a guarantee.

"SellerBuyer*B) The dog will have passing hip certification from a recognized registry (i.e. SV, USA, OFA). If not, Seller agrees to provide current hip x-ray at time of sale showing no evidence of debilitating hip dysplasia. If too young for x-ray puppy will not have developed debilitating hip dysplasia within one year of age"

I just like the traditional rusty tan with a black saddle

I will take a look at those other breeders too. $4000 is ALOT of money

Anyways...I Will get some pictures soon! If they are still there when she passes, which i hope will be a long time from now, I will PM you the info.

Thank you-----I hope it will be a long time too!! Our neighbor's GSD just had to be put down recently, and she was 15!

Too much money to me as well. There are dogs out there that would be worth such high prices - trained working dogs guaranteed to do a certain job. With the worthless hip guarantee and most not even started training, you would be better off rescuing a dog. You can get a well-bred GSD for less than 1/2 the price.

Of course, you don't want to budget shop for a dog either. A good GSD breeder is going to have a hefty investment in training and health-testing behind that litter and it's only fair that they be compensated for all that hard work. $500 from the paper isn't the way to go, but a large price tag doesn't mean a quality pup either. Know what you are looking for and find a breeder that you trust that can provide that.
