He sure is a handsome guy! And he seems like such a good chicken dog! I have a chicken dog too. A border collie named Zoey. Beautiful dog and flock! Thanks for sharing.

Jake and Scoob are both very handsome.

Do your flock dogs protect chickens from each other if a ruckus breaks out, like a rooster might intervene between two hens, or do the dogs only guard against aggression coming from outside the flock?

I have only one dog at present. When two realized, elder may suppress some improper actions but I intend to have such problems prevent in part by imprinting younger dog before introducing it to older dog in company of birds.

No , Jake doesn't interfer in intra flock squabbles, he just looks at them like they're crazy. Generally he will sit and just watch around the area, his hearing getting real bad. trying to bring on another flock dog to take over but the two I have are Great Danes and they are already 5 years old, so pretty late in life to start them. they are good with the chickens and go with me into the coop and run and let the chickens all around them but so far not protective of them. That I can determine right now anyway.
