Hello there, Me Debi, as you can see by my screen name.

We have:

6 bo's
1 silver spangled hamburg
2 EE's
1 black sex link - we think
2 RIR's
4 Ameracauna's
1 Turken - juvenile delinquent

Ah, I love our brood.

Well, my name is Shelley (big surprise there!) I am now living in KY, but am a born Hoosier (don't tell!) I recently moved back here from Florida, which I miss soooo much! I am a full time student, taking accounting classes through the U of Phoenix. I have 3 kids, Jesse, 14; Jonathan, 12; and Cristian, 4. Only the baby lives with me. His favorite chickens are anything that look different, silkies, frizzles, cochins. Mine are bantams in general, as long as they aren't feather legged!
We currently have 60 some chickens, 10 ducks, 5 guineas, 6 rabbits, 2 puppies (8 mo. old GSD, and 4 mo. old beagle), 6 quail, 1 potbellied pig...oh and one goldfish

We are getting bobwhites and chukars, as well as some kind of goose, though haven't decided which. Plus turkeys next month, and who knows what else!
I don't have a 'name' for my little operation, but need one, since I plan on making my little operation a fairly large operation in the next 6 months! Any suggestions?

Hi, my name's Aimee, and I'm a chick-a-holic.

Kinda hard to believe since I don't even have my first chickens yet, BUT I'm going to be getting my 5 new babies the day after Christmas(I hope). I think I'm getting 2 EE's, a BR, an Australorp, and a GSL.

HI, Im Jewel, I have owned One Sky Ranch for over 20yrs, went to collage for equine sceince and also started the International Riding Steer assn. and published a book about riding steers. I have shown chickens lightly for 25yrs. The breeds I have now are Golden Polish, Barred Rocks, Partridge bantum cochins and will start (again) with blue Orphs this coming spring. I love the Orphs and I think they are my all time favorite breed for dual purpose as well as showing.
Also have Texas Longhorn cattle, Andalusian, and Criollo horses and Flemish Giant rabbits.

My name is Deborah.

I am thrilled to have found BYC and have only owned chickens for the last 6 months or so. I never set out with a goal, just a McMurray catalog and the idea that it would be cool to get fresh eggs and have food to live on if anything should ever happen. Thanks to BYC I soon discovered how many different breeds there were and wanted lots of them! I still have a list of about 14 breeds that I would like to own at some point, but my Mille Fleur d'Uccles, Silkies, Cochins and EEs are quickly winning my heart.

I tried my hand at hatching once, which was a flop and had me swearing to never try it again. But here I am 3 weeks later (after the upset of failure eased) with 17 eggs in the incubator and 6 under a broody hen...not getting my hopes up...not getting my hopes up!

Lucky for me, my hubby and kids seem semi interested in my new chicken hobby or are just happy I have a new one besides the computer
