Get Promoted

17! Wow! Thats plenty. Haha. Do you have any chicken/animal related that you would like to share with me? : )

I have a friend who already recommend I get a domain there because its cheap, like $5 per year per domain. Anyhow, as far as the host, I can't really change it not since I have put so much time and effort on the one I already have which is from Freewebs already...so yeah.

Unless there is a painfree host transfer. Haha

I don't know anything about internet promotion but I liked your site. Very nice pictures, layout and content + I liked the Carver quote ---Go Cyclones!--- everyone likes an underdog (referring to ISU and not your site).

Best of luck to you!

Your site is run off of Wordpress with a typical theme. It's would be easy to transfer the content. Might be some work but it could easily be done.

holliewould,

Your name is?

I know you are giving me great advices but can you be my official website advisor since you know much more than me? Haha. So, which host do you think is best and easy to use since you have had many trails and errors so far?

I had always wanted to get a new host and keep what I have as well but just afraid I have to start from scratch again. I have put much effort on what I have right now, so yeah. Also, I wanted something professonal but can't seem to do it without knowing HTML...

: (

Please help?

You made some basic mistakes with your keywords that will keep people from finding you.

PHOENIX? Is That arizona the mythological creature or a chicken? Bantam phoenix targets the search engines much better. The way you have it done you are competing against what I listed and many more. Keyword targeting will get you results and hits. From there it is QUALITY reciprocal links and CONTENT. BTW Links from page 200 sites can drag you down with them.

Thanks for your advice!

I should look into that too. Since I have only the basics with a website pretty much and use Freewebs as a host, how how I change my "search keys"? Are they they Meta-Tags or something else?

Would be great to hear more of you too : )

Thanks...I appreciate it

- Tommy

You are correct Tommy. The meta tags are what you need to change.

When putting in keywords think about how you search. People target their searches better these days. If they want to find a OEGB breeder in california, they are not likely to use OEGB by itself. they would use OEGB California. Or OEGB breeder California.

<meta name="keywords" content="Phoenix, Onagadori, Golden Duckwing, Chicken, Poultry, Serama, Modern Game Bantam, Quail, Pheasant, Bird Show, Rare, Exotic, Ornamental, American Long tail, Sulcata, Desert Tortoise, Red Jungle Fowl, BBR, Tommy Truong, Pet Paradise, animalsinthecity">

Above is what you currently have.
Keywords like Poultry, Rare, and Exotic are far to generalized and your competition for them is in the millions.

Hello kstaven,

Wow, thanks! Hummm...lets see. So I should do "Bantam Phoenix, American Onagadori, Vietnamese Red Jungle Fowl, Jerry S's Serama, etc?

Oh yeah, I am also limited to 25 words it says, is that true or could I ad a little more like 30 - 35? Since you know more than me, this will for sure help. I don't want to mess up now since my meta-tags are "registered"?

: )

- Tommy

You are on the right track.

Keywords are relisted every time your site is crawled. Changing them does you no harm at all.

Look at your signature line for example. Richardsons Red Jungle Fowl or vietnamese red jungle fowl is far more descriptive, better related to CONTENT on YOUR site and will benefit you more.

More keywords is not always better. A few (10 or so) targeted keyword sets will do you more good than using a bunch of individual words like chicken, poultry etc that will get you little or no traffic at this point in time. Unless you happen to be a site like BYC with thousands of members.
