Gawd I just love Guineas. I must be insane but I just gotta get me some at some point in time. They are just so psychotic I love them.

I'm on Murray McMurray window shopping and starting a wish list....be afraid, be very afraid....

Oh man, they are my favorite hatchery! When i ordered chicks they had stopped hatching Polish for the season. I got some at Hoover, but not really happy with them. I mean they lived and all ,but the quality is no where near as nice.

Great Aart! Not 100% ready, still lots of bulbs to plant. But getting there.
Here is my platform with the waterer and the poo pan.View attachment 1191998
Oops, just remembered one more thing to do in the coop,
but it's not vital and the cold really hasn't settled in yet.
Shop vac inner windows and HC coop ceiling that collected dust all summer,
then toss cardboard draft dampers up onto ceiling over roosts near eave.
Got to get garlic in too, and clear garage from summer projects so van can go in, and insulate attic fan, and window screens out/storms in, and switch tractor from mow to throw, and..... but I was thinking this meant 'chicken ready for winter'.

Doesn't waterer have to touch composting poop to get any heat off of it?
Platform will be handy if it's level.

Big selection of colors as well as jumbos. Largest guinea hatchery in the US.

I figure hot air rises. And i am going to fill it really full. But if i need to, i can take the plywood off, there is hardware cloth underneath. This is a test model to see what works.;)

Today i have cut the insulation for the floor, and the wood to cover it in. Painting the wood. I also finished adding supports to the bottom so the hardware cloth doesn't sag when i put weight on it. Husband wants to know why i am making it so heavy:lau. Just adding parts i need dear!
I started worrying that my contraption might not fit in the run door so i went and measured the door. I need 33 1/4 " and there is 33.5" of space! Love it!
I also assembled the door for the last end. Cut and painted the pieces to hold the pop door. Just happened to have an extra piece of metal from when i built the coop.
After lunch i will post more pictures. Getting close to completion. Have to buy the pvc pipes for venting the manure .:highfive::thumbsup
