Here here. My mom and her boyfriend go riding on his Harley all the time and they have the most wonderful vacations...but boy, do I hate being stuck next to someone on a motorcycle at a red light. The noise is unbearable, even though they seem to think that the ear-splitting revving is the coolest thing they've ever heard (is it really still that "cool" when you're over forty? fifty?). And since I live on a country road, people on motorcycles love nothing more than to go tearing down my street all hours of the day and night. So much for peace and quiet in the country. But I'm sure all our BYC'ers are much more polite than all those other rude bikers out there.

We took of on the Scoot at around 1 this afternoon and just got home! It was a beautiful day for my first ride in over 15 years old but man, oh man is my rump wore out! Gotta build my bikin' bum back up! LOL

Amy,

I'd rather listen to a nice rumbling Harley than the thump! thump! thump! from the vibrating bass of teens playing their confounded Rap music any day of the week! This is our payback to all those young punks!

But we are in our 40's and more respectful of other people than most.

I'm with you nccountrygirl!

Hey Dawn, I agree on that one! I don't want to listen to the thumping rapmobiles either.

Amy,

When we get a blaring rapmobile next to us at a light, we usually crank up the Metallica, Rob Zombie, or whatever hard stuff we have in the player. LOVE the surprised looks on their faces when they see someone "Mom & Dad's" age rockin' out!

Spent another 6 hours on the Scoot yesterday and was glad to wake up feeling fine! Can't wait to get out again but it will probably be Sunday before that happens, weather permitting.

Firechicken,

Nice ride! We have a younger friend who used to have one something like that and he loved it. To us older fogeys, it just doesn't look comfortable...DH is afraid it would put his back out. LOL

Thanks for the forum link. We respect anyone who rides, no matter what they ride but we still enjoy good-natured teasing, getting as well as giving, when we can!

Skip has been looking into pre-built sheds for the bike, after cringing at some of the prices, we decided to build our own temporary shed last weekend. We have cattle panels left over from our main run so we zip-tied 2 panels together.

Click on pix for bigger images...

The panels are held in place with rebar. Dimensions are H: 6' 3" W: 8' 5" L: 8'. Covered it with 2 tarps, one 10' x 16' (top & sides) and one 6' x 8' for the back). Tarps are also attached with zip-ties (used the UV resistant ones).

The front is held closed with different lengths of bungee cords.

Skip had off yesterday so we rode the scoot up to the Crossville Flea Market to check out some of the animals and to look around in general. Didn't buy any critters but lucked up and found some official HD clothing, I got an awesome pair of riding pants for $10, Skip got a nice long-sleeved t-shirt for $10 also.

On the way up Bon Air mountain, we stopped at the scenic overlook to get a few pix. The trees are just starting to put on their fall show...

The Scoot without hutches and works in progress (but some graffitti)...

It was my first "cold weather" ride. It was 44 degrees at 9:30 a.m., so we bundled up good. It was awesome, exhilarating even!

Getting out again today to do some visiting and picture taking!
