Getting a new duck

Are the drakes bigger? Can you tell by the feathers? Bill color?

No, usually you wait till they QUACK or sound Raspy....Hens quack...Drakes sound like they have a cold...By 8 weeks you will know.....

Awwww what a cute ducky!! Looks like a happy little bird and looks like you have a nice set up for it! I'm glad you got your lonely drake a friend.
 
My duckling just got attacked by all my chickens! :hit they pecked all over her neck....she is still alive but I don't know how to help. Please! How do I help her!

I will post pictures as soon as I can.

@Welsh Ducky How old is your duckling? start by rinsing the are real well with some salty warm water. then you can apply antibiotic ointment or spray veterycin on her wounds Nothing with pain relief in it. . Keep this little one warm as she maybe in shock. But ducks truly are amazing and can recover from some pretty horrendous things.You might add some electrolytes and vitamins to her drinking water to help during healing also.

Please never keep ducklings in with chickens though as you just found out they can do serious harm and even kill.

Please let us know how badly she has been wounded because you may want to consider a vet if it's is very deep and open.
