I am new to peafowl and just wondering how old they should be before getting any color. My 2 chicks hatched Aug 26 and I notices about 4 weeks ago they were getting some color on there shoulders. Now they much more color right down to the wings, and head. Is this early for them?

That would make them approx. 10 weeks old and that is just about right for color to start showing. Here is a link to a bunch of chick pics! Courtesy of New2.

Yes, if it is still yellow/white at 9 weeks it will most likely remain that way. This is a white at approx. 9 weeks.

This is him today.

Not sure what advice I can give you,

Yes .
Can you post a photo?

mom....dad and pea baby!!! you think it will be white???? and when can I tell if it is a girl or a boy!??!??!
I think it will be white. By this age you would see other colors if you were going to. Unfortunately the hardest ones to sex are whites, we go by size. When it gets to around 10 months it will either be the same size as mom(female) or bigger/taller than mom(male).
