Getting coturnix tomorrow!!!**UPDATE** Sex question!!!

I'm guessing they are I was looking at my newly hatched & noticed I now have a tuxedo. My last batch didn't. Not sure which two crosses to make a tuxedo. But some veteran hopefully can tell us. I'm fairly new to coturnix. You picked the right bird I have Bob's as well & the Bob's are high strung compared to coturnix which are laid back. You can easily handle coturnix & if they get out of the cage you can catch them. Bob's get out forget it their gone.

yea, its up to the breeder, if you mate A&M's with say.. Tibet birds, you will get a slightly larger tuxedo, pick the biggest ones to mate together, and you can make them larger and larger thru the generations

Woo! He threw in a fourth one!!! I have to sex them now and make sure they are 3 females and 1 male!!! Will post pics later.

They are a little scared right now. But I am about to vent sex them...

I heard that swollen vents mean MALE... Well I have 2 with swollen vents.. And the other 2 do not.. Is this going to pose a problem???

It just means two boys and two girls. You may have some bald girls there when they breed. I have some photos on my website darling on their booties

Yes I saw and them, but I mean just lifting them up their vents are larger than the other 2. I didn't even have to pull back the feathers. They are very much boys. Someone told me males will kill each other.....? I mean as long as they can live together happily I dont mind two males and 2 females. I mean he said if there is a problem I can call him and have him swap out for a female if there are too many males. And when you say bald do you just mean the back of their head or their whole body? O.o
