Hi everyone! My name is Jason and I have a good friend who raises chickens here in the San Francisco Bay Area who I've been trying to find some chicks for. I searched a bunch of Facebook pages looking for certain breeds of chickens before I came across this site. I'm not really into chickens (yet) but because of all the research I've been doing, they're definitely growing on me. And, because I've been searching with my wife, she's now interested in chickens. Soooo...it looks like I'm going to be on here a lot...

Anyway, I'd like to say, "thank you" in advance to everybody on here as I'm sure I'm going to have tons of questions.

My friend(really) was looking for better chickens than her feed store had. She didn't have a computer so I did the looking for her and got hooked on BYC . Been here ever since.

And beware the gateway chickens!!! Sure at first you’re “just looking into it for a friend”... then one day shortly thereafter “honey, what’s that strange cheeping noise coming from the bathroom?” Next thing you know you’re building cools, the chickens are having babies... and yes, you’re hooked!

In case you haven't found it yet, there is a Buy-Sell-Trade forum here on BYC (it also includes a Free Rehoming section). You might want to keep a check on that forum as things come and go pretty frequently.f
