getting my hens to roost

Ive had my hens for almost a year now and most of them don't roost on the roosting bar! Only Flicka(my black astrolorp) and my two white plymouth rocks (Angelica and Eliza). The other four roost on the peice of wood between the nesting boxes and the main part of the coop. I've tried putting them on the roosts when I shut the coop door but they just jump off and go back to roosting whare they were before. Any ideas on how to make them roost on the roosting bars?

Block off the nesting boxes at night, with something that hangs slightly over the lip they’re roosting on, just what I’d do. Is the roost big enough for them all?

Thank you!! And yes the roost is big enough for all of them the others just don't seem to get the idea that roosts are for roosting on, and nesting boxes are only for laying eggs.
