getting ready to order chicks- Best hatchery? McMurrays?

Quote:
MPC is a middleman, not a hatchery. They get their chicks from a hatchery close to them. I believe Meyers.

Just this morning I got a shipment I ordered through MPC--- they still had some selection as opposed to the others and they will ship smaller amounts. I got 3 BO's, 3 Australorps, 4 GLW, 3 RIR's and 3EE's. All arrived healthy and active... they are eating, and drinking. Will post pic soon---so far so good!

I have seen some hugh EE eggs from the hens at Mt. Healthy. Thats where the local feed store here orders from. He said they have the healthiest and best delivery for him. I can barely wait. I have three of their Ameracans or EE's. Gloria Jean

I recieved my first time ever order of shipped chicks from MPC, and was very happy with the condition of the chicks. I ordered 24 and recieved 24, and all were what I ordered. Not a single case of pasty butt, and all appear to be robust. I am splitting this order with a friend who has ordered many times from Murray McMurray and was very happy with them. The only we reason we didn't order from them was due to the fact the Dominiques, and Gold Laced Wyandottes were done for the season, and MYC had a number of delivery dates still being scheduled.
I would order from MPC again without any problem.

I ordered my 7 chicks from My Pet Chicken. They are 5 weeks old now and doing great! We got 3 EE, 2 black australorps, 1 silver laced wyandotte, and 1 golden laced wyandotte. I had a couple questions once I got my chicks and there customer service was wonderful. I asked if they could help me identify my chicks and the lady was great at helping me do that. They let you order I think it is 3 chicks min. if you live by a major city. They want you to order 5 chicks at least so they can stay warm if you live farther away. I would recommend them to anyone. They had to be shipped across the country to AZ for me. Plus I got them vaccinated and sexed.

I had great luck with my two crackle orders. they were out of Polish pullets so i ordered from MPC and they arrived in great shape and are doing good.

My brother has ordered hundreds from McMurray and never lost a single chick. I just got an order from them today and can't believe how clean and healthy they all seem. I didn't even consider other hatcheries. What ain't broke...

Add me to the list of satisfied MPC customers. The 14 I got from MPC are almost 3 weeks old and thriving. For those who are interested in getting chicks, they have a sale right now 25 Barred Rock, EE or Assorted female chicks for $41 including shipping.

MPC also sexes bantams, though I have not had any experience with them. I ordered from Meyer's and ordered 8 chicks, but they forgot my little EE in the order so I only got 7.

They didn't charge me for her but I'm still upset. I ordered over the phone, too.

Next time, I'll just have to make sure they have them all down right, because their minimum of at least 3 birds is a great deal for people like me with little room. Quality wasn't so hot, but it never is when ordering from a hatchery.
