Hello everyone. So we got results from the lab today proving we have a coccidiosis infection in our flock. We are starting Sulfacox, taking 3 days, then 2 days off and 3 days medication. I was wondering which day should I clean and desinfect the coop? When do they stop pooping the pathogens after starting the medication? Also, should I do anything in their outside run (soil?) Any way how to desinfect it? The coccidia will remain in the soil for long, right? Will the flock be immune against this strain of coccidia for life? Thanks a lot.

As @Wyorp Rock said, coccidia is in the soil everywhere and in your chickens’ intestines. They gradually build up a resistance to it as they grow. You cannot disinfect a coop against it. But if you keep your bedding dry and stirred, and add new bedding as needed, and keep your feeders and waterers up at shoulder height, it might help to get your chickens healthy again. Good luck.
