Getting so pretty!

My EEs and Silver Laced Wyandottes are getting prettier every day! I wonder when I'll start getting eggs? Miss Hazel is the orange EE, one SLW is Molly (Weasley), can't figure out a name for the other. My second girl EE with the partridge wings is Martha Jones.




Oh, my boys are named Dumbledore, Sirius, Snape, and Fred, because (spoilers) they die at the end. I just call Dumbledore "big guy" though. He's the only guy pictured here, with Martha.

Last year when I had my first EE's, the books and internet said 24 weeks. I had one start laying right at 24 weeks, and the other two EE's laid at 26 & 28 weeks. I thought the other 2 were never gonna lay an egg! LOL But they were so worth the wait. My Anna-Bell EE lays the bluest egg, that rates right up there on the Ameraucana's egg color chart.

Oh, and most other breeds will lay at 18-20 weeks which I found to be true with my Buff Orps, RIR's, GLW, and Barred Rocks.

18-20 weeks is very early for all breeds you listed. 20 weeks is ideal, but true heritage breeds do not lay this early.
