    depends on the eggs.. shipped, age, etc.. but I have had 100%

    What I like is the ability to accurately set it and forget it... It maintains the temperature within a .3 degrees Celsius range..which is .54 degrees Fahrenheit...

    Yes that is the one STC-1000 bought from a couple different people on ebay.. just make sure that you get the 110 or the 220 version depending on which country you plan to use it in...

    the ants are nasty, little guys that bight and create welts like a mosquito on me. i will also spray the area around the bator shed. they will be a non-issue next hatch

    This is why I'm scared/hate ants. I have had a run in with fire ants in Cancun.

    Good luck taking care of them.

    Can you get diatomaceous earth there? Food grade DE is safe for the chickens because it works mechanically (no toxins) to weaken the exoskeleton of insects, and they dry out and die. Had ants trailing around and through the coop last summer after the water. They were soon gone after I sprinkled a perimeter of DE around the coop.

    So sorry about the troubles with the second round of eggs. Since practically everything that could go wrong did this time, next round can only be better. You are obviously not the type to give up just because something is hard. (Thinking of your beautiful children here! [​IMG])
