Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Just read the entire thread start to finish. Need more pictures of your fluffies!!! I'm jealous, my wife is from Manila, wish I could be there too! At least i get to eat filipino everyday(wifes a great cook). I'm stuck in this -14f snow everywhere weather... The beach sounds nice...

I'm waiting for my fluffies they are due around the 6th. Good luck and it was a good read!

Good luck with your hatch. Its a stressfull 21 days.

We are back having a beer after a gruelling day. I beat up my lawyer. Perhaps a bit too hard because he offered to resign and refund the money. We also went to the social workers regional office and lit a fire under their less than fluffy butts. Hopefully we can get things moving. Dealing with red tape in USA is tough. Dealing with it in the third world is like a full day of sitting in a class room with someone scratching the chalk board. Still, we are perservering.

Fabulous idea Sally!! I'm down with that....surfing any good there??

We dont have surf where we are as it in a gulf and too protected. There is amazing kite boarding and wind surfing potential with the afternoon onshore winds.

We have awesone scuba diving forty minutes away. The SS Panay, a US WW2 warship as well as two other wrecks and amazing reefs teaming with tropical warm water wonders are a tank of air away.

You don't wanna know about MY chicken runs

I run clear across the state at the drop of a hat to go pick up birds & eggs not just for myself but for everyone else as well. I've headed out to get 4 dozen eggs from 3 hours away & come home with the eggs plus 4 chicks & 2 peacocks on 1 trip. That was with 4 kids & another adult in the car. We didn't get home til almost midnight that night. The peacocks weren't even for me!! Other trips I've headed out with 20-30 birds to sell & come home with twice as many. Let's not go into MY bird/egg runs.

Grow up...what's that

If you "grow up" you lose the fun in life!!! That being said, I'm 1 of the most mature & responsible people I know. I just have a thing for birds & helping other people. If I'm out at a bird show, swap meet, auction or even driving up the road & I see birds I've been looking for or know 1 of my friends/customers is looking for I have to stop & check it out. I spend a lot of time in pic texting & making delivery or pick-up arrangements when I go to swap meets. Most of the birds I drag back with me aren't even for me. People give me lists of what they are looking for & I go hunting.

Oh no that sucks!! So now what do you have to do? Is your wife freaking?

The process is painful but its getting there. We knew what we were getting into. Mrs Oz is desperate for the culture and lifestyle she had in los angeles but is more concerned about getting us all together again. I feel the the DSWD will get their act together now. Sometimes you just have to squeak the wheel to get attention.

Hey Oz we would love to see pics of your chicks please.Oh and how many of them are Roos and how many are Hens?Or is it too early to distinguish?
Thank You

Zako: I have to get back to the beach house and the chickens first. Give me a day or two as I am in Manila today.

Hens or roosters? At this stage i really dont mind. As i am not an expert with sexing, i will just work it out when they grow.
