Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

I certainly will

I am doing an incubator workshop. I will take a wine box bator, a slightly larger hatcher and a styrobator for people to touch and feel.

I am giving SoCal Dorkings the hatcher bator for her generosity - maybe I can give it to you if you are coming to get it part way to Antelope Valley. If so, he can get it from you or her friend in Acton.
sure..no prob...I can bring it up here and send her a text...then either leave it with her friend or deliver directly to her...depending on her work schedule.

OGM, this one is a winner :)

I love it!!! chickens are soo much fun!! just love to sit and watch them...even the babies crack me up. the other my blue babies were playing keep away with a piece of shaving. LOL nuts all of them like their momma...ME...just in case you weren't sure..LOL

As part of the adoption resolution with the DSWD, Mrs Oz will have to spend 6 months living in Cavite, just south of Manila. I suggested she rents a place that takes chickens. lol.

She will be OK to visit the farm still - it will just mean a 6 hour day with 1 hr on a plane, the rest in a car.

On my next trip over I will have to fly home, set the bators on automatic, spend 2 days with bernie on hatching, then drive to Cavite to deliver the car for Mrs Oz. I will put the car on three small ferries to islands including Mindoro - a small ferry ride from Romblon. What a shame I dont have orps. I could have met one of your relatives at the wharf.

Would they be interested in a trio of mixed mutts?
at this point they are not set up to do anything but allow the other people on their street to get some free chicken adobo

there is a huge hill behind their house that they have been digging into so they can get more flat land

but when it rains dirt & even small rocks come down the hill.

the problem calls for a good solid rock retaining wall

we will probably start sending about p4000 a month over there

& we will see what we can get done by the end of the year

once the wall is finished then we will start with chicken coops & a couple pig pens

i sold some of my buff pullets that i had hatched today

while the guy was here i showed him my english roo

he is 50% bigger than my buff roo

the guy was really impressed but didn't want to pay what i was asking for the britt chicks

by next week i should be able to sex those same britt chicks

i think i'll see how well breeding pairs go

i'll also want to put the best looking pullets in with my adult birds

so i can have more than just the 3 layers that i have rite now.

by cold weather i think i want about 8 hens per breed

that will keep the roos happy

& come next Jan. i can hatch like a wild man
