thats pretty much it.I think so. back when I was able to incubate- to me it seemed there was some correlation between air cell size and time between pip and hatch. Too high humidity seemed to have much longer time between pip and hatch. Pure speculation on my part- with larger air cells the chicks were able to practice breathing or get enough oxygen via internal pips before being ready to get out. With smaller air cells, they might need to external pip to get enough oxygen.
