"That cant be good... Maybe we should go see?" She suggested. "I can go unseen and you could fly as a bird?" She wasn't sure. But she didn't want a living human to find their city. It was spirit's jobs for as long as they live there, protect the city and keep humans from it. Everyone protected it. No human has found it, and she wasn't going to let anyone find it now.

"Yes." She said as she turned into a bird.

Maeve shifted into a great bald eagle and disappeared. "I'll meet you there, then." She said and shot away and into the forest, her keen eyes searching the forest for any sign of her. When she saw her, she landed on the branch of a tree and appeared again.

Daisy flew through the forest. She saw Maeve and landed over by her.

A cold breeze hit her, and Nicole shuddered. She wrapped her ratty old hoodie closer to her body, trying to stay warm. She heard some kind of sound and looked down at the ground, which seemed so far away. Did somebody follow her? No, they would've gotten lost a long while ago.

Maeve shifted into a squirrel and disappeared. She watched the girl and climbed closer. Was the girl spying on someone? Or what? Maeve didn't know. But she wanted to find out.

Daisy turned into a squirrel. She followed Maeve. "I hope she's not a spy." She said.

Nicole had the strang feeling she was being watched, but when she looked around there was nobody there. She dismissed the feeling and climbed higher in the tree, almost to the top. She was skilled at climbing, probably because she spent at least one day a week in the forest. She sighed. "What I wouldn't do for some music right about now." she muttered, and settled into a "V" shaped notch where another thick branch came from the trunk. She slumped off her backpack and took out a book. She slipped the straps back on her shoulders and began to read.
